Abigale Miller bio
Abigale Lee
Mills (born September 21, 1965) was a American dance instructor, choreographer,
and reality television host. Abby Lee Dance Company is her original creation
and aired for eight seasons on Dance Moms. Miller pleaded guilty in June of
2016 to felony bankruptcy fraud. Miller was sentenced to a year and one day in
federal prison, and was released on the 27th of March, 2018. The diagnosis of
lymphoma was made in April 2018. This is a type of cancer that makes her unable
walk. The wheelchair she uses now is used to get around. Miller was raised in
Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. Her teacher was her mother at Maryen Lorrain Dance
Studio. Miller was 14 when she was given choreography and coaching of one of
her mother’s dance teams. Miller eventually assumed control of the company,
changing its name to Reign Dance Productions. Miller was certified by Dance
Masters of America and became a member of Dance Masters of Pennsylvania Chapter
#10 in 1986, however, her membership was revoked in February 2012 in the wake
of DMA declaring that Miller's reality show Dance Moms was "a total
mistake in the representation of our dance instructors and their students and
is harmful to the profession of dance."
